Positioned between a national park and a private courtyard, this urban 300-person assembly hall addition is enlivened by natural light and expansive views at either end. On the exterior, slender zinc-clad, stainless steel edged columns recall the proportions of nearby historic cast iron and granite loft buildings while expressing contemporary materials and detailing.
The meeting suite side aisle walls are clad with cobalt blue fabric panels, forming a showcase for awards while concealing speakers and enhancing acoustics of the spaces. Visitors passing through the lobby can receive the latest announcements on the built-in flat screen display or peruse pamphlets flanking the built-in banquette.
