Located at the entrance to Burholme Park, the building is sited with its narrow gable end oriented to the visitor to form a gatehouse image.  The detailing and materials such as red tin roof and stucco walls recall the historic Ryers Mansion at the top of the hill.  The building has a series of glass doors opening onto a little terrace, which close up tightly at night with wood paneled security shutters.  The program consists of a clubroom, snack bar, restrooms and storage.
